Puppies

At Lapochka, puppies are raised as individuals from their very first days.

Our litters are thoughtfully planned from health-tested parents and raised in a calm, attentive environment where early development, socialisation and confidence are given careful consideration.

We want every Lapochka puppy to leave us well prepared for the life ahead — whether that is as a cherished family companion or, for the right puppy, a future show or breeding prospect.

Our Current Litter

We are pleased to announce that we currently have beautiful, healthy puppies available from our latest litter.

Our puppies are born and nurtured inside our home, receiving dedicated care and early socialisation to ensure they grow into confident, well-adjusted companions. Both parents have undergone complete 13-point DNA health screening alongside hip and elbow scoring to ensure exceptional health and sound structure.

Every puppy is formally registered with Dogs NSW (ANKC), ensuring their purebred heritage and structural soundness.

We warmly welcome puppy enquiries from families across Sydney, Newcastle, and the rest of Australia, and we are happy to help arrange safe, seamless transport for our interstate puppies.

If you would like to welcome a Lapochka puppy into your life, please introduce yourself by filling out our Puppy Enquiry Form, or apply through our verified RightPaw Profile.

If you would like to follow the puppies' growth, we share regular video and photo logs on our Lapochka Facebook Page for our daily updates.

Puppy Development

The first weeks of a puppy's life are very different from the weeks that follow. Newborn puppies are completely dependent on their mother and, for the first two weeks, have not yet opened their eyes or developed their hearing. During this vulnerable stage, our priority is their health, growth and care.

The First Two Weeks

Puppies are monitored closely from birth, with each puppy weighed daily so we can keep track of individual growth and make sure everyone is progressing as they should.

During these early weeks, they spend their time with their mother and littermates in a warm, quiet environment. We handle them gently and regularly as part of their normal care, while allowing them the rest and security they need at this stage.

Once their eyes begin to open, their world starts to change quickly.

Two Weeks Onwards

At around two weeks, or as soon as their eyes have opened, we begin introducing solid food. This is gradually introduced alongside their mother's milk as they become ready for it.

Their first worming is given at two weeks of age, with worming repeated weekly thereafter according to our veterinary and puppy-care routine.

As their eyes open and they become more mobile and aware of their surroundings, we begin taking them outside for short, age-appropriate trips. These early outings allow them to experience different environments while keeping their exposure appropriate for their age and stage of development.

Exploring & Learning

From around three to four weeks of age, the puppies begin to experience a much wider range of outings and experiences.

They are introduced to other dogs, our cat, horses and cattle, as well as different environments around our property. They also begin taking short car trips and are introduced to basic obedience in an age-appropriate way.

These experiences give the puppies opportunities to learn how to respond to different animals, people, places and situations. We believe this early exposure helps them develop into confident, adaptable and well-socialised dogs.

We continue to watch each puppy individually as their personalities and natural characteristics become clearer.

Six Weeks

At six weeks of age, each puppy is assessed by our veterinarian and receives their first vaccination and microchip.

By this stage, we have spent several weeks observing how each puppy develops, interacts with its surroundings and responds to new experiences. This gives us a much better understanding of the individual puppy and helps us make thoughtful decisions about the right home for each one.

Going Home

When a Lapochka puppy leaves us, we want their new family to feel as prepared as the puppy is.

Our puppies leave at a minimum of eight weeks of age, with everything they need to settle into their new home. Each puppy goes home with an extensive information folder, starter food, grooming supplies, toys and familiar blankets carrying the scents of their litter and home.

We also take care in placing each puppy. By the time they are ready to leave, we have spent weeks getting to know their individual personalities, strengths and needs, and use this knowledge to help match each puppy with the family and lifestyle best suited to them.

For us, bringing a Lapochka puppy home is the beginning of a relationship, not the end of one. We value staying in touch and following our dogs throughout their lives.
